Conversations, media, and updates from the Volunteer Park SDA Church community
Join us this Sabbath as we begin our spring sermon series. Over the course of eight messages, we will be arranging eight doctrinal convictions of the Adventist Church to paint a resplendent picture of Christ. After all, Christianity is not about abstractions and theory, it is not a pop quiz to pass, but a relationship to enter into. See you Saturday at 11:30am | 1300 E Aloha.
In the past, this admonition may have caused eye-rolling for its saccharine, bumper sticker quality. Now, it is a subversive stand against the zeitgeist of national, local and even familial warring. We can only live at peace with others, if we are at peace with ourselves. So this morning may the resurrected Christ, the Prince of Peace keep our hearts and minds; so that we may plant seeds of peace where ever today takes us.
A new week, new mercies. Waking up to a Seattle blanketed in three inches of snow. Stay safe 🌨❄️
Opportunities can present as a breathless adventure, running toward dawn; or as plunge into the unknown. God is on the move, let us not miss Divine opportunities because we dislike the wrapping.
The outworking of true Christianity is not theological dexterity in polemics, but love, kindness and forgiveness. May the resurrected Christ, quicken our often fleeting desire to love, and restrain our impulse to quid quo pro.
