The Gospel of Mark: The Deeper Healing of Jesus
The Gospel of Mark Mark 1:40-2:12 Sermon by Pastor David Lee
"He is never to be treated as someone we place on a witness stand as we take the posture of prosecuting attorney peppering with questions and asking him to dance like a monkey for us to our musical tune of objections and doubts, and when you finally answer all of our questions,... then you'll be my intellectual authority and Jesus says, "You can have no part of me, then."
"Because Jesus is Lord, we are saved from the horrifying consequences of joining in Satan and his rebellion, we're saved from our own powerless inability to rightly relate to God,... we are saved to forever participate in the loving, joyous, life-giving power and peace that can only be found in the reign of King Jesus."
"When Jesus drives out demonic spirits and heals the sick, Satan's dominion is closing and God's kingdom is coming."
"If you don't pay attention to the story behind the story, you're going to miss just how important this scene is..."
